Anna Karenina Movie

Anna Karenina MovieThere's a new movie adaptation of Anna Karenina ahead of us. Director Joe Wright is set indeed to bring Leo Tolstoy's classic tragic love story to the big screen based on a script by Tom Stoppard. Actress Keira Knightley has the lead role as Anna. The film will also star Aaron Johnson and Jude Law. Production should start this fall so the film will likely be released end of 2012.

Plot:
"Stefan and Dolly Oblonsky have had a little spat and Stefan has asked his sister, Anna Karenina, to come down to Moscow to help mend the rift. Anna's companion on the train from St. Petersburg is Countess Vronsky who is met at the Moscow station by her son. Col. Vronsky looks very dashing in his uniform and it's love at first sight when he looks at Anna and their eyes meet. Back in St. Petersburg they keep running into each other at parties. Since she has a husband and small son, they must be very discreet if they are going to see each other alone."

Is yet another adaptation of Anna Karenin really necessary? Probably not... but considering the talent behind the project I guess I'll have to give it a try.

Anyway more details about the movie Anna Karenina soon!
